7km – 12mins Drive to San Pedro Beach
This is a long straight and wide beach backed by a seafront promenade, suitable for walking and cycling. The beach is often awarded the Blue Flag award for cleanliness & has full services including a Red Cross First Aid Post.
Although there is not a dedicated car park for the beach there is plenty of on street parking available along the street that runs along the length of the beach. Although finding a space nearby in peak season may be more difficult. The beach itself does not feel busy due to its size, with plenty of Bars & Restaurants along its length.
The San Pedro and Marbella Seafront Promenade now nearly 12km. From the Bajadilla fishing port – Marbella town centre – El Ancon – Rio Verde – Puerto Banus – San Pedro. It is part of the Senda Litoral de Malaga (Malaga Coastal Path) a projected 163km path following the entire coast of Malaga province from Manilva to Nerja. Once completed, this long-distance path will be a major tourist attraction for the Costa del Sol, and for Andalucia.
If you are wanting a quite beach to enjoy a relaxing day we highly recommend San Pedro Beach (Playa de San Pedro de Alcantara). As an alternative we often take a Taxi from the apartment and get dropped of in San Pedro town centre have a mooch around the shops as we make our way down to the beach and walk along the excellent promenade towards Marbella. Stopping of at a few bars and having breakfast and lunch as we finally arrive in Puerta Banus.
